An introduction to Environmental Management System standards and the benefits derived for organizations looking to manage their environmental impact.

The main requirements of ISO 14001 and the certification process will be described and an overview of BS 8555 and the EMAS Regulation will be given to provide background information.

To assist you with the successful implementation of an EMS the approach taken by certification bodies during EMS audits, including the assessment of compliance with environmental legislation will be explained and, typical pitfalls encountered during the audit process will be highlighted.

La norma internacional ISO 50001:2011 sobre Sistemas de gestión de la Energía, publicada en junio de 2011 recién pasado, ayudará a las organizaciones a implementar los procesos necesarios para identificar el uso de su línea-base energética, como también a establecer planes de acción, metas e indicadores de desempeño energético. El estándar requiere que la organización identifique, priorice y registre oportunidades de mejora tendientes a la eficiencia energética.

O Projeto Green IT foi desenvolvido e estruturado com o objetivo de apoiar o setor empresarial a identificar oportunidades de melhoria organizacionais e técnicas necessárias à redução dos impactes ambientais das Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação. O reconhecimento do grande consumo de energia associado à crescente utilização das tecnologias de informação e comunicação leva cada vez mais, empresas a procurar formas eficientes de gerir os seus sistemas, reduzir custos e demonstrar o seu compromisso com um ambiente livre de carbono.

O Projeto Green IT tem por filosofia o conceito de melhoria contínua em que, de acordo com o nível de maturidade das medidas implementadas por uma organização, é atribuído um nível de conformidade, que pode evoluir, posteriormente, para níveis superiores.

A Certificação Green IT permite à organização comunicar ao mercado que adotou uma estratégia de Green IT que lhe permitirá ter os seguintes benefícios económicos, ambientais e reputacionais.
